Stress and Anxiety

Stress

Stress, anxiety, and excessive worry are among the most common reasons people come to my practice — and for good reason. Whether stress is rooted in work pressures, relationship struggles, or major life changes, it can quickly become overwhelming. More recently, global events such as the Covid pandemic and the war in Ukraine have contributed to a deeper sense of uncertainty and emotional strain.

When stress becomes chronic, it doesn’t just affect your mind — it can take a serious toll on your physical health too. That’s why it’s so important to address these issues, especially when they persist for weeks or months.

Reducing stress, letting go of perfectionism, and reclaiming a sense of calm requires a holistic approach. This means caring for both your mental and physical well-being. It often involves making meaningful changes in your life — not just in your thinking, but in how you move, breathe, and connect with others. In therapy, we’ll work together on:

  • Cognitive tools to shift unhelpful thinking patterns

  • Mindfulness techniques to ground you in the present

  • Self-compassion practices to ease internal pressure

  • Physical routines and social engagement that replenish you

These tools, used consistently, help you move away from striving for perfection and toward embracing progress, acceptance, and balance.

In our sessions, you’ll have a safe, confidential space to explore what’s really going on for you. Together, we’ll design a personalized plan to guide you toward a calmer mindset and more sustainable lifestyle. And I’ll be by your side, supporting you, keeping you accountable, and helping you build resilience against future stress.

I offer therapy in English, German, and Latvian. If you’re thinking about starting therapy, or if you have questions — reach out. I look forward to hearing from you.
